The Story

Why Trust & Transition exists

Trust & Transition was founded by Zaden Pothacamury, a student at Ramapo High School who has volunteered with and served the special needs community through his church since the fifth grade. Through these deep personal connections, he witnessed firsthand the overwhelming financial anxiety families face as they approach the "age 22 cliff" — the critical point where traditional school age state support ends. Recognizing a profound gap in accessible guidance, he created this series to transform complex financial planning into a clear and manageable roadmap.

What began as a goal to create a general community financial literacy project quickly evolved as Zaden became aware of the real world needs of special needs families. He learned that generic advice isn't enough; families require specialized knowledge regarding benefits, special needs trusts, and long term security that respects their loved ones' independence. Because of this, the series is intentionally structured to break down complex concepts into actionable modules, making critical planning achievable for busy families and the professionals who support them.

The ultimate vision for Trust & Transition is to ensure that no family ever has to face the future with fear or feel alone in their planning. Designed to serve parents, caregivers, educators, and community professionals alike, this platform aims to become a trusted, lifelong resource for transition planning. By fostering education and advocacy, Trust & Transition is dedicated to building a supportive community where every individual with special needs can transition into adulthood with the stability, dignity, and bright future they deserve.
